We’ve had a long standing error on the web site and only got it fixed last night but it means our search archive is now out of date as well as out of order! We’ll make up for this by putting together much more content and of course all of it will be searchable!
If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to email me.

Here’s some additional links to some parenting web sites as, based on the feedback I got, it’s something that interests the audience.
The Opinionated Parent and DadLabs - The Daddy Blog are more useful blogs which highlight a few things to parents.
- Other people are going through the same things as you. You’re not alone.
- They have some advice which is entirely up to you to pay heed to or ignore
- There’s a lot of product placement
- You can comment on the blog, ask questions.
If there’s something you’d like to see us cover then please email me at matthew@wow4kids.com.

More and more, we can see ourselves turn to the internet for inspiration. If junior gets a nasty rash on his cheek, we immediately google for allergies and we can be quickly informed or, in some cases panicked - A little information isn’t always a good thing.
One of the areas which has been great for me is the concept of “lifehacking”. The big name in this is, obviously, lifehacker.com but there are blogs out there which deal with parenting related tips.
Parent Hacks would be one that I regularly subscribe* to. Some of the ideas are better than others but the real strength is the variety. It has some neat ideas every day especially for rainy days or how to prepare for a trip. As a Dad, I’ve found it invaluable.
A lot more ‘commercial’, in my opinion, is Clever Parents. It’s not a negative thing but while Parent Hacks is written by the end users, Clever Parents is definitely the work of columnists which removes it a layer from reality.
Both of them update regularly and offer RSS feeds which will deliver their articles right to your computer. If you’re not sure how to use an RSS feed, then pop a line in the comments!

Are you aged 16 or under?
This is news to me! After a visit to Avoniel Leisure Centre in East Belfast on Saturday this could help some of us out.
The Boost Card is a leisure discount card which can save you money in Belfast City Council leisure centres. Boost offers discounts on a range of facilities and activities at these leisure centres with one card being issued to all users.
The cards are available to everyone and offer discounts to the following groups:
- children aged 16 and under
- over 60s
- students in full-time education
- Belfast residents on means-tested benefits and dependant children
- regular users who pay monthly for unlimited access to our leisure centres.
If you are aged 16 or under all you need to do is ask your parent or guardian to complete a form, which is available at leisure centre counters. This will make sure you get discounted rates at Belfast City Council leisure centres. You need to return the form, with a some proof of your date of birth to reception, to get your card.
This may entitle you to additional discount if you live in Belfast and your parents receive Means Tested Benefits.
wow Overview
This was given to me at Avoniel Leisure Centre. Just letting you all know. I will try to get a Printable/downloadable file for our site.
